Well, my goal was to post a blog entry at least once every month but appairently March and April got past me when I wasn't looking. Hopefully I can cover the last two months with this entry and i'll be all caught up. I've been working on gearing up my Hunter by doing the new dalies on thunder isle but they've goten so that you need to run with another person or else you're doing the ghost run back to your dead toon most of the time. I've done a few LFRs trying to pick up some higher level stuff but the ques are 40 plus minutes long for DPS and take 30 to 40 mins to run without any glitches, so needless to say I got burnt out on the whole thing. For a change of pace I started doing pet battles which i thought I'd never get into , but like with most things I get into, if its challenging and interesting I'll pursue it. I beat all the lower level pet trainers by capturing higher level pets to fight with as I went along, instead of trying to level the ones I already had. It just seemed like a faster way to go about it and also you can pick which type of pet you need to capture based on what the pet trainer you are trying to beat has on his team. As always I used Wowhead for information and read the commnets posted by other people about which pets are best for which fights. I made good progress untill I got to the pet trainer in Shadowmoon Valley who has level 24 pets. At this point once you capture the pets you need to beat him you have to level them to at least 24 and if they are not rare quality (Blue) pets, you probably wont win the fight. I finally did beat him, but juist barly, and it was shortly after that that I had enough of pet battles for a while. I had fun and got some achieves along the way...I got a thing for achieves = ). Once I was over the pet battle fever, instead of going back to Zenul, I decided to work on my Tank Zenaxos who hasn't seen much action since he reached level 90 after Pandaria came. I was glad I bought the "reputation increase for all toons on your account" thingy from the major factions and the fact that in a recent patch they let you select a faction to receive extra rep with when you do your first random scnearios and heroic dungeons for the day. Its been a great help in upgrading his gear with the valor points from the randoms and the fast reputations gains. Without these reputation gaining advantagaes I dont think i would have grinded it out like i did on my main the first time. Thats probably why they added them becuase they knew most people felt like i did, too much of a ardious rep grind over and over to gear other toons for it to be worth it. Another advantage and motivating factor of working on my tank is the "insta que" I get for the randoms, unlike the 15 to 30 minute waits i have on my Hunter. I've even did the first two LFRs on my tank which for me was a little unnearving not knowing the fights other then reading a tank guide about them online. I didn't do too bad. It was a little rough at the begining but i guess the best way to learn is to get in there and get beat up a little and learn from your mistakes. Other than the pet battles and gearing up my tank, I'm still making and selling Glyphs and Transmogg items on the AH, just not as activly as I have been in the past, but still making progress to my One Million Gold goal. I've updated the Gold Making page of the website and added some more information and will continue to work on it in the future when the mood strikes me. That pretty much sums up the last two months. I'll try to keep up with my monthly Blog entry so look for one at the end of this month and we'll see how I do.

I finally got the opportunity to take some screen shots on location with V for the transmog page. So far on display is Aedarah, Evolett, Andromoche, and Zenul. I think they came out quite well. Along with the photos I have listed the transmog gear used and where it can be obtained. I have three of my own toons I'd like to take screen shots of to add to the page and I need to ask the other members of the guild if they'd like to participate too. I know J and Taggs have some toons transmogged; not sure if Buk has any though. I'd liked to see their creations here on the website as well. After a long pause I have started to add more information to the Gold Making page. Mostly about some of the add-ons I use and how I used them to make gold. I'm also going to write about some of my strategies and the methods by which I increased my gold income both in and out of the game. I will try to make it as interesting and useful as possible and perhaps you will find something there that will help you to make more gold if that's your goal. If not maybe you'll still find it an interesting read. About six months ago I stumbled upon the OpenRaid.com website where you can register your WOW Toons and then sign up for cross realm Raids, or achievement runs that people set up on the site. When you're accepted for attendance for the raid you will receive a confirmation email and a few minutes before the raid starts you will get an in-game invite, and off you go. It's a great way to get into some of the larger 25 player raids or older content to pick up achievements and titles you might be missing. I've used it three times and my experiences have been good. Everyone involved in these cross-realm raids are professional and well mannered and the raids went smoothly. I recommend that you check it out and try it a few times. I have gotten achievements through OpenRaid that I probably would never have achieved without it. Believe it or not; today I passed the 500,000 Gold mark! I didn't think i was going to make it because i was starting to loose interest in my gold making efforts. It just seemed that I wasn't making as much on my Glyphs sales and Transmog items as I had a few months ago. I was also focusing more time on leveling toons and gearing my main than working the AH as I had in the past. Also spent quite a bit of gold on mats for making Darkmoon cards for the trinkets for three toons and paying for fast flying for all three in Pandaria. I've been stuck around the 450,000 to 475,000 Gold mark for months and thought i had hit my gold making wall. I also almost spent 100,000 gold on a mount a few days ago, but thankfully someone else bought while i was struggling with myself about spending that much gold and setting myself so far back. It takes a long time to make 100,000 Gold, lol. If i had bought that mount and set myself that far back, i'm afraid I probably would have given up gold making and just spent the all the rest of the gold I've made. I'm glad that didn't happen because I finally reached the elusive 500,000 gold mark and have set my sights for 600 K with a renewed motivation to succeed. I just realized that I haven't made a blog entry for this month yet and today is the last day of December, last day of the year in fact. I've been busy with work and the holidays like everyone else and haven't had as much free time the last couple of weeks. Since I last wrote I finally finished leveling my Priest, and Death Knight to 90, and have since been working on my main Zenul. I've been focusing on daily quests with Shield Wall and Golden Lotus for reputation in order to buy higher level gear, and queuing for heroics (long wait times as usual for DPS) , and the Scenarios I haven't done yet. I finally went back to the Outlands to complete the Sha'tari Skyguard rep grind to Exalted I worked on it some last year getting up to Honored and then got burned out and didn't plan on going back anytime soon until the other night when I was looking at which Achievements I was still missing . Turned out that I only needed 1 more Exalted Reputation to get the 45 needed for that Achievement and that I was only 5 mounts short of reaching the 100 mounts achieve. The Skyguards sell 5 Neither Ray mounts at exalted so it was exactly what i needed. It took me a few days to get it done but it was well worth it for the achievements! Talk to you next year. Be Safe! *Screenshot nicked from www.joystiq.com* The other night I was looking at the guild achievements tab and noticed that we were only 1 profession away from the working as a team achievement. The profession we were missing was blacksmithing and I saw an opportunity to accomplish that achieve as well as help myself in the process. When I rolled my Death Knight after they first became available I decided to do mining and jewel crafting as his professions. The mining wasn't bad but the JC leveling was to me very time consuming and expensive so i stopped pursuing it and it fell by the way side. It also didn't help that i was spending most of my in-game time on my hunter and my healer and my Frost DK started to collect dust. It wasn't until I changed from Frost to Blood Spec and learned how to Tank that I started to play him again, but by that time we already had two maxed JCs in the Guild (Tagger and Buk) and there was really was no need for me to level JC anymore. So when I saw that we were only missing a blacksmith for the Guild Achievement, and that i needed one anyway to make plate gear for my Tank, it became obvious what I needed to do. It took me about 6 hours and over 10,000 Gold to drop JC and level blacksimthing from 0 to 525. I think it was worth it. Time to go sell some more Glyphs on the AH, lol. *Screenshot copied from some obscure website I Googled* What a beautiful land Pandaria is. Although I haven't explored the whole continent yet, I am very impressed with all of the environment and architecture I have seen so far. I have already posted some screen shots of places I've seen and will be adding more soon. I am also enjoying all the new quests and the developing story line as I progress further into Pandaria. As strange as it might seem, I enjoy the fact that I must pay attention to my health bar again as I go about business. For a long time now I've been running around Azeroth almost invincible , so it is a refreshing change and challenge to stay alive again. I've spent a few hours doing pet battles which was fun, and I will probably do more of them after I've leveled all my Toons to 90, and begin working on the long list of new achievements waiting for me to complete. I also really like new structure of the cooking trainers, quests and achievements, especially the interactive farm where you can plant and harvest your own veggies to use for cooking or to sell on the market. I am thoroughly enjoying this expansion so far and I have just barley scratch the surface of all there is to experience. I should have my 1st level 90 Toon this week, then the grind for gear begins.... 3 Days, 2 Hours, and 48 minutes until Mists of Pandaria goes live. Unfortunately I'm working night shift on the 24th so I wont be able to get my copy until after Game Stop opens at 9 AM on the 25th. I'll probably sleep until 1 PM and then go pick it up, so I'll be getting a late start. On a positive note, I'll be off until the 28th so I'll have a few days to play before going back to work. Although it will be cool to role a Pandaren Monk, I am more interested in questing in the new zones and leveling my 85s to 90. I look forward to doing the new scenarios, dungeons and raids, and leveling professions again. It will be strange to see a level bar at the top of my screen again to be sure. For the last couple of weeks, while waiting for MoP, I've been working on Zenul's Quest Achievements for the different zones; it's a grind but not too bad for an 85 in the low level areas. I can do them pretty quickly. Had to go back to Vashj'ir which is, hands down, the most fantastic zone in the game. I know a lot of people don't like Vashj'ir due to the difficultly of operating in it's 3 dimensional environment, and I was one of them. However, now that I've returned and gotten past that I am able to appreciate the beauty of this underwater world and all the detail put into the buildings, plants and sea life. Its truly an amazing place. If you haven't been there in a while go back, take the time to look around you, and enjoy its beauty. Screen shot by Mark Kaelin http://www.techrepublic.com/photos/desktop-wallpaper-my-personal-stash-of-world-of-warcraft-screenshots/6338963?seq=34 We survived Issac without any major damage, however some houses across the road from us and the whole street east of us flooded. We were lucky. Tonight is my first night back at work after the storm and I will try to make an entry every night shift I work provided I have the time. Thanks to my 5,000 Watt generator I was able to get online during the days the power was out so I didn't miss the 5.0.4 patch launch. I was amazed by how many people had no clue what was going on and spammed trade chat with questions they should have already known the answers to if they just would have read the patch notes on the loading screen. I like the change to the talent system. The old system was way over complicated, and everyone was using the same builds anyway except for a few points you could spend however you wanted. The new system makes things much easier because all the "must have talents" for your class and spec are already built in so all you have to do is choose now are the talents that best suit your play style. I also like the changes they made to Glyphs. Instead of having 9 Glyphs per toon, we only need 6 now, and of those 6 only the 3 Major Glyphs effect our performance. The 3 Minor ones are mostly "For Fun" Glyphs, which add some type of special effects or animation to our actions. Account wide achievements, mounts, and pets was another great idea especially for people like me who "had to" play toon A instead of toon B because because toon A needed the pet, mount, or was the toon with the most achievement points. Haven't had a chance to do any dungeons or raids to see the new spells and talents yet; been too busy redoing talents and glyphs and dealing with broken addons and all that. My internet has also been extremely slow as a result of the hurricane and my provider promises me they are working as quickly as possible resolve the problem. Welcome to my first attempt at a Web Log or Blog as it is more commonly known. I will do my best to update this as often as possible, (which means when i feel like it and have the time) lol. I am currently at work, which is where i will probably be making all my entrees whenever I happen to have some idle time here at my computer, which is usually when I work night shifts and it's slow. I work close to New Orleans at a terminal on the Mississippi River and as I type this we have pretty much shut down operations here as we prepare for the arrival of Hurricane Isaac. We hope it doesn't do too much damage and everyone makes it through safe. Haven't had much time to play WoW the last few days but I look forward to seeing all the changes after Patch 5.0.4 hits tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think . Thank you Lady V for volunteering to proofread and edit my rambelings! =) |
